Immediate Works Grant

For not-for-profit and community organisations

The NT Government has opened the Immediate Works Grant as part of its Jobs Rescue and Recovery Plan to help stimulate the economy and keep Territorians in jobs.

Grants of up to $100,000 will be given to Northern Territory (NT) not-for-profit and community organisations to engage local businesses to do repairs, renovations and upgrades to their property and facilities. These are for permanent physical improvements to land and / or buildings.

The first $50,000 will be paid as a grant without you needing to co-contribute.

The NT Government will also match any renovation costs that exceed $50,000 on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to a maximum total of $100,000.

Who can apply:

You can apply if you are a not-for-profit or community organisation operating in the NT in either owned or leased premises.

Each organisation can:

  • apply once for the program and
  • be able to complete up to three jobs under the one application.

What you can use the grant for:

You can use the grant to carry out renovations, improvements, repairs and maintenance services.

This only applies if the services permanently improve the structure, fittings or fixtures, or the general condition of the property.

The works must demonstrate value for money consistent with the eligible organisation or other purposes beneficial to the community.

Quotes need to show the breakdown of goods and materials, and other costs, including labour. At least 25% of the value of a contract must be for labour.

You must not use a grant with any other voucher or benefit granted under any other program (whether an Australian Government or NT Government program) to pay for the same works.

Jobs up to $100,000

For jobs up to $100,000, you can use up to 50% of the value of each grant towards goods and materials used as part of an upgrade, improvements, repairs and maintenance.

Jobs more than $100,000

For jobs worth more than $100,000, you can use up to 75% of the value of each grant towards goods and materials.

For the purposes of this grant program, goods and materials are those that stay in / are affixed to the property permanently.

TV and audio-visual equipment are not eligible.

Under this program, AJ Technology Services can install new voice and data cabling, new phone system, CCTV and monitored security systems that do not meet the requirements of the NT Government’s Biz Secure Scheme and a range of wireless technologies.
